Arli Aditya Parikesit bekerja sebagai Ketua Departemen Bioinformatika pada School of Life Sciences, Indonesia International Institute for Life Sciences. Penelitiannya meliputi bioteknologi dan bioinformatika. Di samping itu ia memiliki keahlian dalam bidang kimia komputasional dan biologi molekuler. Arli meraih gelar PhD in Bioinformatics dari University of Leipzig, Jerman. Pendidikan S1 di bidang kimia dan S2 di bidang bioteknologi ditempuhnya di Departemen Kimia FMIPA Universitas Indonesia. Keahliannya di bidang bioinformatika membuatnya dapat melakukan kolaborasi penelitian di berbagai bidang, di antaranya desain dan deliveri obat/vaksin, evolusi genetik, anotasi genome, anotasi protein, dan peningkatan stabilitas enzim atau protein.
Arli Aditya Parikesit juga merupakan anggota dan pengurus Masyarakat Bioinformatika dan Biodiversitas Indonesia (MABBI) maupun Masyarakat Komputasi Indonesia (MKI)
